Alligator Records artist D.K. Harrell took home top honours at the Blues Music Awards 2026 when his Talkin’ Heavy album won Album of the Year and Best Contemporary Blues Album of the Year. Now he brings this album to the UK, performing his second ever UK show at the 100 Club, Oxford Street London on 8th July 2026.
Guitarist, vocalist and songwriter D.K. Harrell was born in 1998 in Louisiana and is one of the most formidable young stars of the current blues resurgence and sounds like no one else on the scene today. He first heard B.B. King at the age of two and started singing along. As a child he sang in a church choir, was inspired by famous blues films and received his first guitar age 12. By age 16, he was writing his own songs.
With his stinging, single-note string bending, deep soul vocals, and attention-grabbing original songs, the 27-year-old Harrell, a major draw at blues festivals around the world, is already in a league of his own.
