North West law firm SAS Daniels is inviting local businesses to a free employment law webinar to discuss the changes under the Employment Rights Act 2025, the main reform coming into effect in January.
The session will guide employers and HR professionals through the practical implications of the changes introduced to date, as well as upcoming reforms due next year. This includes the proposed reduction of the qualifying period for unfair dismissal claims from 2 years to 6 months, a significant change that will require employers to address performance, conduct and capability issues much earlier in the employment relationship and ensure robust recruitment, onboarding and probationary processes are in place.
Taking place on Wednesday 4 November, from 3pm to 4pm, the online seminar will be led by Katie Hodson, partner and head of employment at SAS Daniels and Charlie Wood, partner and employment lawyer.
Topics will include changes to unfair dismissal rights, fire and rehire practices, fixed-term contracts, family-friendly rights, and sexual harassment, as well as the associated legal risks for employers and the practical steps businesses can take to prepare managers for the new requirements.
The speakers will also discuss proposed updates to the ACAS Code of Practice, changes to Employment Tribunal time limits, and recent employment law developments that are already impacting workplaces.
Katie Hodson, head of employment at SAS Daniels, said: “The changes to employment law mean businesses need to take a close look at their current policies, procedures and management practices to understand what the new requirements could mean for them.
“Preparation is key to reducing legal risks and ensuring managers feel confident handling employment matters. Our webinar will break down the key developments, explain the practical implications for employers and provide guidance on the steps businesses can take now to prepare.”
The free webinar will take place on Microsoft Teams from 3pm to 4pm on Wednesday 4 November. Businesses can register to attend via: https://cmemailmarketing.co.uk/dcfb8e74272/frm25
