Solar and battery specialist targets UK growth following major investment in new headquarters

A RENEWABLE energy company helping households and businesses across the UK cut energy bills and reduce their carbon footprint is targeting further growth following a major investment in new headquarters.

Award-winning Carbon Zero Renewables has expanded into a 24,000 sq ft facility in North Wales as demand for solar panels, battery storage and sustainable energy solutions continues to create opportunities in the sector.

The company, led by entrepreneur Gareth Jones, has relocated to Caer Delyn Buildings in St Asaph alongside sister business UK Leisure Living, bringing both operations together under one roof as part of an ambitious expansion strategy.

The new premises are four times the combined size of their previous locations and provide a platform for further investment, customer engagement and commercial growth across the UK.

Carbon Zero specialises in domestic and commercial solar PV and battery storage installations, helping customers reduce their reliance on traditional energy sources, manage rising electricity costs and improve their environmental performance.

Its portfolio includes renewable energy projects for organisations such as Mostyn Estates, Techniquest in Cardiff, Palins, Salisbury & Co Accountants and the Waterloo Hotel in Betws-y-Coed, alongside installations for residential customers.

Gareth, who has spent almost 18 years in the construction, renewable energy and leisure industries, believes the move represents an important milestone for the business.

“The last few years have been challenging for many sectors. Geopolitical issues, rising costs and changing consumer confidence have all had an impact, and our industries have certainly not been immune to that,” he said.

“But we kept moving forward, diversifying and investing, and now we have two complementary, award-winning companies together in one fantastic location.”

With energy costs remaining a significant consideration for households and businesses, Carbon Zero is focused on helping customers make long-term investments in renewable technology.

Solar generation and battery storage can allow property owners to produce and retain more of their own electricity, reducing their exposure to fluctuations in grid energy prices.

Gareth said installations have already delivered substantial financial benefits for customers, with savings running into thousands of pounds in some cases.

He added: “It’s been a really good move for us, and it comes as there is a real upward trajectory and momentum across both businesses.

“St Asaph is perfect for us. We are centrally positioned in North Wales but have customers across the UK, there is excellent access and parking, and we have the space to grow and give customers a better experience.”

The investment also creates opportunities for Carbon Zero to work more closely with UK Leisure Living, which has sold more than 3,000 hot tubs over the last decade and expanded into swimming pool design and installation.

With customers increasingly considering the running costs and environmental impact of their homes and leisure facilities, the two businesses are well placed to offer complementary services.

Gareth said: “The landscape has changed and we’ve changed with it.

“Customers increasingly want a turnkey solution. With UK Leisure Living we can take somebody from their first conversation about a swimming pool, hot tub, swim spa or sauna right through the whole process, including the landscaping and finishing touches.

“Then we have all that renewable energy experience within Carbon Zero, so there are plenty of opportunities for the two businesses to work together.

“We’ve got a fantastic team here and that’s a huge part of why I’m so positive about where we’re heading.”

A Director of the Federation of Master Builders (FMB), Gareth has received numerous industry awards and is now preparing for the next stage of expansion under a strategy dubbed Project Growth.

Further investment in the new headquarters and a renewed commercial drive are planned ahead of 2027, with the company looking to build on its established customer base and strengthen its position in the renewable energy market.

“We can utilise the space here even better and there are a lot of opportunities,” said Gareth.

“We have plenty of ideas about what comes next, so watch this space.

“It’s an exciting time for both businesses and I can see 2027 being a very good year for us.”
