More Than A Match: East Of England’s Largest Padel Club Opening In Peterborough

New 12-court Groove Padel club will bring championship courts, coaching and space to eat, meet and socialise to the city

The largest padel club in the East of England is set to open in Peterborough, as Groove Padel prepares to bring a new 12-court club to the city.

Designed around the idea of creating a club rather than simply somewhere to book a court, the new Peterborough site will bring together padel with spaces to meet, eat, work and spend time before and after a game.

The new club represents a seven-figure investment in Peterborough and is expected to create around 30 new jobs in the city, spanning roles across coaching, hospitality, operations and club management.

The investment will also add to Peterborough’s growing sport and leisure offer, creating a new destination for players and visitors from across the city and wider East of England.

At the heart of the new club will be 12 padel courts – 10 doubles and two dedicated singles – including three custom championship courts designed to support high-level competitive play and events. Dedicated coaching courts will also provide space for beginners and developing players.

Beyond the courts, a café and social space will give players somewhere to meet before a game or stay afterwards, while workspace will allow people to fit padel around the working day.

The club will also feature pickleball and golf simulators, alongside modern changing facilities and car parking.

Members will also be able to enjoy Reformer Pilates and a gym on-site.

Sam Jones at Groove Padel said: “For us, it’s about building a club, not just courts. Padel is naturally social, and we want the spaces around the game to be just as considered as the courts themselves.

“This is a significant investment in Peterborough and we’re proud that the club will create around 30 new jobs for the city. We want it to become a real part of Peterborough – somewhere that brings people together, creates opportunities locally and adds something new to the city’s sport and leisure scene.

“The aim is to create somewhere people feel part of, whether they’re picking up a racket for the first time, playing every week or simply spending time at the club.”

A limited number of Founder Memberships will be released this autumn ahead of the club opening for those that sign up.

Further updates on the Peterborough club and its opening will be shared through the Groove Padel website and newsletter, as well as @groove.padel on Instagram and Groove Padel on LinkedIn.
