UK healthtech company reports 40x growth as private healthcare demand increases

UK healthtech company Healistic has reported 40-fold growth over the past few years as more private clinicians turn to digital prescribing and medication fulfilment.

Healistic, an e-prescribing and medication fulfilment platform used by private healthcare professionals across the UK, says it has grown 40x as it has expanded from its early customer base to working with clinicians across every major private hospital group in the country.

Its users now range from independent Harley Street specialists to consultants working within some of Britain’s largest private healthcare networks, showing a wider shift towards digital tools within the sector.

The growth comes as Healistic has also received growing industry recognition. The company was recently named a finalist for Health Tech Provider of the Year at the HealthInvestor Awards 2026, having previously received a Private Healthcare Award from GHP News.

Founded to simplify what can often be a surprisingly fragmented process for private clinicians and their patients, Healistic allows prescriptions to be created digitally and sent for fulfilment and delivery through a nationwide pharmacy network.

For doctors, the aim is to remove a lot of the administration that can come after a consultation. For patients, it means avoiding the process of taking a private prescription from pharmacy to pharmacy in search of medication.

Daniel Bulkin, Founder of Healistic, said the company’s growth has largely been driven by clinicians looking for a better way to manage prescribing.

“There’s actually a huge amount happening behind the scenes every time a prescription is issued. You’ve got regulation, pharmacy availability, medication stock, fulfilment and delivery all happening around what, for the clinician, should be really simple,” he said.

“That’s what we’ve built Healistic around. We take care of that complexity in the background so that, for the doctor, it can genuinely feel as simple as clicking a button. The prescription goes into the system and our technology takes care of what needs to happen next.

“Growing 40x is obviously something we’re really proud of, but I’m even more excited by where that growth is coming from. We’re now being used by clinicians across every major private hospital group in the UK, from specialists on Harley Street to consultants working across some of the country’s biggest healthcare networks.”

Healistic’s expansion comes alongside continued growth in the UK’s private healthcare sector, where technology is increasingly being used to streamline everything from booking appointments and consultations to prescribing and ongoing patient care.

E-prescribing has become a particularly important part of that shift. Unlike the NHS, where electronic prescribing is well established, private prescribing has historically involved a mixture of paper prescriptions, individual pharmacy relationships and separate digital systems.

Platforms such as Healistic are attempting to bring those parts of the process together.

Healistic now provides private clinicians with digital prescribing alongside medication fulfilment and delivery, with prescriptions fulfilled through its nationwide network of pharmacies.

The platform can also support a broad range of medicines, including controlled drugs in Schedules 2-5, giving clinicians one system through which to manage prescriptions that might otherwise require different processes.

Bulkin added: “I think that’s where the exciting part of healthtech is. It’s not about giving doctors another piece of software to learn or another system to manage. It’s about using technology to take work away from them.

“We’ve taken something with a lot of complexity behind it and built technology that makes it feel incredibly simple for the people using it. That’s been our focus from the beginning.

“It’s also why the recognition from HealthInvestor and GHP means a lot to us. The fact that we’re seeing this level of adoption across private healthcare tells us we’re solving a problem that really matters.”

With its footprint now extending across every major UK private hospital group, Healistic says its next phase will focus on continuing to expand the platform and making private prescribing and medication access simpler for clinicians and patients across the country.
