We Care Group, a trusted family of care, nursing and dementia homes based in the North of England, has appointed a new manager at Brooklands Care Home in Grimsby.
Lisa Laws recently took on the role of Home Manager after serving as Deputy Manager for the last six years. No stranger to Brooklands, she has been working at the care home for 22 years, where she started out as a Senior Carer.
Having spent the last 34 years in the sector, Lisa has built a huge amount of knowledge and experience in health and social care and home management, and is passionate about creating a ‘home away from home’ for residents.
Brooklands Care Home provides accommodation for up to 63 individuals who require residential or dementia care, as well as care for young people from the age of 18 with physical disabilities. With three sitting rooms and three dining areas, residents can also enjoy the coffee shop, hairdressing salon, treatment room, activities room, and garden.
Speaking about her new role, Lisa said: “I’ve been in the industry for a long time, but I still enjoy every single day. Connecting with the residents, their families, and the whole team is a huge privilege and makes my role extremely rewarding. Many members of the team have been at Brooklands for almost 15 years, so it truly feels like a family – and our residents notice this. It’s this family feel that makes Brooklands so special and why I’ve remained so dedicated over the years.
“Keeping our residents safe and embracing a person-centred approach are my ultimate priorities. It’s our job to make sure they’re as comfortable and settled as possible – residents choose their own paint colours for their rooms, and one of our residents even has his dog staying with him. It’s a privilege to look after our residents, and I’m delighted to have stepped into the role of Home Manager.”
