GB News is celebrating being Britain’s number one news channel – for a SIXTH consecutive month.
Latest BARB data shows the People’s Channel coming out on top against Sky News and the BBC News Channel throughout December – just as it did in July, August, September, October and November.
Last month, between 6am and 2am, GB News secured 87.7k average views. This put it well ahead of Sky News on 58.3k, and the BBC News Channel on 74.5k.
Throughout the day, GB News programmes consistently drew in higher audiences than its rivals.
During weekdays, GB News Breakfast secured average views of 103k – almost double that of Sky News on 54.5k. BBC News Channel were a distant third on 29.7k.
On Saturdays it was the same story through December, with GB News Breakfast watched by an average 98.3k viewers compared to Sky News on 62.1k and the BBC News Channel on 44.6k.
That trend continued into Sundays too with GB News Breakfast recording average views of 94.2k compared to 71.9k for Sky News and 54.1k for the BBC News Channel.

In December it secured average views of 147.5k – putting it above both Sky News on 125.0k and the BBC News Channel on 132.1k.
Elsewhere, Britain’s Newsroom led the way on weekday mornings securing 117.2k average views in December compared to Sky News’ 69.5k and the BBC News Channel’s 86.0k.
Later in the day, Dewbs and Co continued to lead during weekday prime time. Britain’s most-loved debate show secured 124.8k average views in December compared to 69.4k on Sky News and 92.4k on the BBC News Channel. Patrick Christys Tonight also remained number one securing 84.9k average views in December compared to 59.7k on Sky News and 83.9k on the BBC News Channel.
Overall, GB News were well ahead during weekday prime time (7pm to 11pm). During this four-hour slot, GB News led Sky by 71% and BBC News by 12% in December – 90.0k vs 52.8k and 90.0k vs 80.4k respectively.
