Shortlist Is Announced For Chester Business Club’s Young Business Person Awards

School children, college students and budding young entrepreneurs are among those in line for gongs at a brand new business awards.

The inaugural Chester Business Club’s (CBC) Young Person Business Awards will take place on Monday July 7.

Winners will be announced at a glitzy dinner at the CBC’s Annual Banquet, which members of the public can now buy tickets for.

The Awards are split into two categories with the first, the Vision Awards, open to school children and those attending further education colleges in the CH1 to CH4 postcodes.

Judges asked entrants to come up with a brilliant new business idea for the city and explain how they’d make it happen.

The second category, the Young Entrepreneur Award, targeted those aged up to 25 who have been running a business in Chester for at least a year.

Young Entrepreneur Of The Year:

 

Fernando Rutter, Property Pac (Age 24)

Keren Isaiah, Kairos Unlimited (Age 22)

Solomon Meredith, Solm Property (Age (22)

Jack Green, Thrive Studio, (Age 24)

 

Prizes will include access to mentoring from members of the Chester Business Club, hundreds of pounds of Chester Bid vouchers to spend in the City, and tickets to a July awards ceremony where trophies and certificates will be presented.

 

A host of top local businesses have come forward to sponsor the awards including Chartered Surveyors DEESURVEYS; Aqueous Digital, who specialise in SEO and reputation management, and the digital marketing agency, Fly High Media.

Also sponsoring the event is city-based media-firm, Magnify PR.

Their founder, Nick Owens, who is also a member of the Chester Business Club’s Executive Council, who is overseeing the awards, said:  “We were absolutely blown away by the standard of entries. It’s clear the entrepreneurial future of the city is in safe hands.
