This International Women’s Day, Taylor Lynn Corporation (TLC) turned words into action, delivering truck loads of donations to Emmeline’s Pantry—a women-run charity providing essential support to vulnerable women and families in Manchester.
On March 7, TLC closed its headquarters, and the entire team delivered the much-needed supplies, including food, toiletries, clothing, and toys, to Emmeline’s Pantry. This initiative, spearheaded by TLC CEO Liz Taylor, was made possible through the generous backing of B&M Stores, Rixo, Threadbare, SmartWorks, 4th&Reckless and Mintini, along with on the on-the-day support of actress Jennie McAlpine.
“IWD should be about more than just conversation—it should be about real change,” says Liz Taylor. “Seeing the impact of these donations firsthand and hearing from the women Emmeline’s Pantry supports was both humbling and inspiring. This is the power of businesses coming together to lift women up.”
Emmeline’s Pantry has seen a 225% increase in demand over the past five years, now supporting nearly 250 people per week. With the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, donations have slowed, making TLC’s contribution all the more critical.
“This donation is more than just supplies—it’s a message to the women we support that they are seen, valued, and not alone,” says Karen Wilson, founder of Emmeline’s Pantry. “TLC’s generosity will make a real, tangible difference to the lives of so many women.”
Jennie McAlpine, who lent her voice to the initiative, shared: “When I heard what Liz and the TLC team were doing, I knew I had to be involved. Emmeline’s Pantry is a lifeline, and I’m proud to stand behind the incredible work they do every day.”
Emmeline’s Pantry is a vital service supporting women and families across the Manchester region who are struggling to feed and clothe their families. This operates on a referral system and can be as the result of various circumstances, including the cost-of-living crisis, mental or physical health challenges, and escaping domestic violence.
One service user, whose life was completely overturned by a debilitating autoimmune disease, spent years trapped in her flat, unable to step outside. Isolated and struggling to support her family, she felt utterly hopeless. But through Emmeline’s Pantry, she found not just practical support, but also the kindness and encouragement that helped her rebuild her confidence and sense of self-esteem. To protect her privacy, we have kept her identity anonymous. She said, “This charity gave me back my self-worth. Their support helped me regain confidence, and now, I’m proud to volunteer and give back to the very organisation that once lifted me up.”
TLC first supported Emmeline’s Pantry in 2022 and was so inspired by the charity’s vital work that the team was eager to help again—this time on a much bigger scale. Recognising the increasing demand for Emmeline’s Pantry’s services, TLC committed to providing even greater support, ensuring that more women and families facing crisis can access essential resources, and dignity.
