Cosy up this autumn with Otterbeck’s new Cotton Garden Gin

As the leaves fall from the trees and the weather turns a little more chilly, a brand new gin from Otterbeck distillery could be the perfect pick-me-up.

Perfect for the autumn season, Cotton Garden Gin contains a broad range of warming botanicals including Juniper, Cassia, Cardamom, Yarrow, Elderberry and Coriander Leaf.

Reminiscent of an autumnal English garden, this is an aromatic gin with an earthy backbone. On the nose, discover notes of English garden herbs which mingle with citrus on the palate – with juniper lingering long on the finish.

It’s delicious served over ice with a slice of lime, a sprig of fresh mint and Navas Garden Tonic.

Cotton Garden Gin was specially distilled for Craft Gin Club September Box 2021. Craft Gin Club’s Distillery Specialist, Peter Downes, said: “Otterbeck’s Cotton Garden Gin is a beautiful expression featuring all of the English Garden flavours and aromas you can experience at this time of year. Given the gin’s fresh centre, it’s easy to taste where the inspiration for this special edition has come from – not least the bountiful Yorkshire Dales which are on the distillery’s doorstep.”

Craft Gin Club Member and gin collector Lisa Baker said:

“I’m already a big fan of Otterbeck distillery – the Captain Sir Tom and Strawberry Cotton gin are two of my all-time favourites, so I was delighted to see this wonderful gin in last month’s box – everyone who has tried it so far loves it!”

“I love that the Craft Gin Club enables members to not only discover new blends but also to learn the distiller’s stories, it gives a connection and an insight into how the product has been crafted which makes the gin even more enjoyable – and it was definitely a treat to try the Cotton Garden Gin before the general release.”

Otterbeck Distillery is the brainchild of husband-and-wife teams Nicola and Dougie Lampkin MBE and Alexa and Chris Ives, who founded Ilkley Brewery.

The distillery is located within a converted 18th century cotton and silk mill on the banks of the Otterburn Beck. A ‘Cotton Ginny’ was a machine used in cotton production at the mill, which is what inspired the name for the gin.

Cotton Garden Gin is available from the Otterbeck Distillery website from early October for £37.95.
