ePayMe expands leadership team with Martin Wilding joining as COO

ePayMe, the leading outsourced payroll services provider for the recruitment industry, has hired Martin Wilding as the company’s new Chief Operating Officer to oversee daily operations of the company and the work of all related teams.

Martin began his career in the insurance industry as an Independent Financial Adviser. After 10 years as an adviser, he joined the Metropolitan Police Service, where he spent 12 years, including terms as an armed officer for the Diplomatic Protection Group, guarding senior politicians and public figures, and then as a detective in the Specialist Crime Directorate (SCD6) specialising in criminal financial investigations.

After gaining a degree in Criminology and Police Science from Canterbury Christ Church University, he entered the private sector and worked as a Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer for the Charities Aid Foundation, then for a challenger bank and an Investment company. He was responsible for training staff and developing compliance systems and controls. His most recent position was with leading investment manager Fidelity UK.

In his new position, Martin will report to Sarah Johnston, Managing Director of ePayMe. His role as COO will entail designing and implementing business strategies, plans and procedures, managing relationships with partners, vendors and agencies, facilitating collaborative relationships and representing the company internally and externally to promote a positive image of ePayMe.

Sarah Johnston, Managing Director of ePayMe, says:

“We’re delighted to welcome Martin to the team. His solid experience working in financial services plus his background in fraud prevention will be immensely valuable to us as we navigate an increasingly complex regulatory environment. Our industry is going through some big changes at the moment, and it is becoming crucial that suppliers in this sector can demonstrate adherence to the law, the latest regulations and best practice.”

Martin Wilding adds:

“After meeting Andrew [founder / chairman] and Sarah, I am really looking forward to my new role and I want to help drive ePayMe forward in the industry, with our excellent product and service.”

Martin’s appointment follows closely on the promotion of Laura Walsh to the role of General Manager for ePayMe and will help to further strengthen the company’s management team at an exciting and challenging time for it and the industry it operates in.

ePayMe is a leader in the provision of specialist payroll support for recruitment agencies and for contractors, an area which is becoming more complex and more regulated as time goes by. ePayMe was recently awarded accreditation under the Payroll Assurance Scheme (PAS), operated by industry body the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP). The company has also achieved Approved Supplier status under employment industry recognition scheme, Professional Passport, and become an affiliate member of The Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo), the international trade association for the recruitment industry.
