TomTom appoints new VP of Engineering and Applied Science

TomTom, the world’s leading location technology specialist, today announced that it has appointed Bahram Zonooz as VP of Engineering and Applied Science.

At TomTom, Bahram will lead the company’s ambitions to put TomTom Orbis Maps at the forefront of a new tech revolution. With a Ph.D. in Computational Neuroscience and his work published in top-tier research journals, Bahram brings over 15 years of AI and machine learning experience to his new role.

Bahram joins TomTom HQ from The Eindhoven University of Technology. Before this, he was Chief AI Scientist at NavInfo (Europe) B.V., where his team significantly contributed to shaping the landscape of next-generation automation, leading to numerous patents and opening new directions for AI research and development.

Bahram will lead TomTom’s team of researchers and engineers based across three countries. His team will play a pivotal role in developing TomTom Orbis Maps, the company’s cutting-edge mapping solution that empowers companies and developers to foster new and innovative mapping use cases that will underpin our hyper-connected world.
