New Offer Guarantees pre-Brexit Service Levels

Brexit continues to disrupt trade between the UK and Europe and damage reputations. Dartford-headquartered logistics operator Europa Worldwide Group is demonstrating that these post Brexit transport challenges can be overcome.

Europa is directly addressing these issues, providing the frictionless flow of goods post Brexit, and has now launched a new Money Back Guarantee option. The business is offering this guarantee on all road freight consignments booked with the company between the UK and the EU, as well as shipments from Ireland and Northern Ireland into the EU.

The new road freight service ensures that companies can have confidence in their service to customers – critical given that Brexit-related complications continue to be heavily blamed for businesses deciding to source products from countries outside the UK, according to the latest S&P Global/CIPS UK Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI), published in December.

Adrian Redmile, Network & Sales Director at Europa Worldwide Group, explained: “It’s clear that the impact of Brexit is still very strong and smart companies are increasingly realising that they cannot gamble their reputations by risking delays emanating from incomplete paperwork, or disputes over VAT and customs duty payments.

“Research in January from FourKites suggested that road shipments crossing the Schengen border were delayed 38 per cent of the time in the fourth quarter of 2022, compared with just 21 per cent for trade within or outside the area.

“Seamless services are therefore attractive as they remove the challenges relating to customs declarations and duty payments, and the additional administration and paperwork they entail.

Adrian added: “More and more companies need to guarantee the movements of goods across Europe. Our service works which is we’re prepared to put our money where our mouth is and guarantee on time delivery of customer consignment, or you get your money back.”

Brexit issues are not limited to the logistics sector, with Eurostar recently saying that stringent post-Brexit passport checks are continuing to impact its service levels.

The new Money Back Guarantee service is available on all of Europa’s Europa Flow shipments, of all shipment sizes, from groupage to part loads, full loads and dedicated vans. It is also available on shipments from Ireland and Northern Ireland to the EU.

Launched in 2021 following £5 million investment Europa Flow service sees Europa’s dedicated customs handle all VAT duty and customs issues on behalf of customers. With Europa Flow, customers of UK exporters no longer need to appoint a customs broker, complete import declarations, and pay import duties.

Customers booking this new service will receive a full refund of transport costs for any consignment not delivered on time.

Europa Road provides market leading European road freight services, operating the UK’s largest European groupage 1Hub in Dartford. Its network of 20 sales branches (across the UK and the Republic of Ireland) manage the shipments of goods into Dartford, from where freight connects with daily, direct services to continental hubs.

Europa Worldwide Group is an ambitious independent logistics operator with three divisions, Europa Road, Europa Air & Sea, and Europa Warehouse, and has been featured in The Sunday Times Top Track 250 for three years. Europa has invested £5m in its innovative market-leading service, Europa Flow, providing a frictionless flow of goods between the EU and the UK post Brexit. The group employs over 1,400 people with 29 international sites in the UK, the Republic of Ireland, Europe, Hong Kong, China and the UAE. The global operator recently reported a record turnover of £302m for the last 12 months, as of August 2022, and remains on track with its ambitious investment programme.
