Punter Southall Governance Services (PSGS) is expanding its team with the appointment of David Griffiths as a new client director.
An experienced programme manager and pension trustee, David has an extensive background in finance and leading business change management programmes. He joins from GSK where he was a pensions project consultant.
Prior to this, David principally worked at EDF Energy where he spent 15 years working in roles including financial controller as well as principal business partner and programme manager roles in pension change, finance, IT and shared services.
As well as serving as trustee of the EDF Energy Pension Scheme, David implemented pensions auto-enrolment and GDPR, delivered a company-wide pensions review programme and a covenant alignment exercise which resulted in significant risk mitigation around pension costs of more than £100m.
David said: “I worked at EDF Energy for many years and am looking forward to now working on a broad portfolio of clients at PSGS. There are major regulatory changes ahead in the world of pensions and governance and I can use my experience and skills to help pension scheme trustees and sponsor companies through these challenges.
PSGS is a growing business with a reputation for providing high-quality services and true professional trustee and pension secretary expertise. I’m really pleased to join the team and start a new stage in my career.”
Wayne Phelan, PSGS Chief Executive Officer, commented: “David will be a great asset to the team. He has broad experience in all aspects of DB and DC pensions, project management, IT and business change as well as being a pension trustee. His knowledge will be invaluable to our clients and the business.”
David is a Fellow Chartered Accountant, has a PMI Award in Pension Trusteeship and a Retirement Provision Certificate and is a practitioner in PRINCE 2 and an MSP Practitioner.
