Vizibl joins Tech Zero to Accelerate Drive Towards Net Zero Targets

Vizibl, the leading SaaS platform for Supplier Collaboration & Innovation, announced today that it has joined Tech Zero, a group of UK technology companies who are  joining forces to accelerate progress to net zero, support tech companies in making a climate action plan and use tech to help the customers they serve live more sustainably.

Through its industry-leading SaaS technology, Vizibl is dedicated to enabling enterprises to realise a more sustainable future, focused primarily on helping large organisations address their scope 3 emissions through Supplier Collaboration. To achieve their goals, Vizibl is further developing its own sustainable services and solutions. This commitment to Tech Zero is a stepping-stone towards that mission.

Mark Perera, CEO of Vizibl, comments: “This is a fantastic initiative and one that I believe will help to tackle the impact that we and other technology businesses have on the environment. We have found that enterprise organisations are rapidly realising that scope 3 emissions reduction is no longer a ‘nice to have’, it is business critical, and they simply cannot tackle their sustainability commitments without aligning and collaborating closely with suppliers. This means as one such supplier we also need to walk the talk, and our commitment to Tech Zero is one step in demonstrating what can be achieved if we work together. Tackling climate change is not only about improving the environmental outlook but it can also unleash economic growth.”

Tech Zero is led by Bulb , alongside industry body Tech Nation, and was founded by innovative British technology firms allplants, Babylon, Citymapper, Faculty, GoCardless, Habito, Hopin, Moneysupermarket Group, OLIO, Onfido, Revolut, Starling Bank, what3words and Wise. It’s backed by the UK Government and is aiming to sign up 1,000 technology companies of all sizes around the world.

By joining the taskforce, Vizibl has committed to measure all of its emissions and set an ambitious net zero target by the end of 2021. Vizibl will also commit to:

  • Annually measure and publish all scope 1, 2, and 3 carbon emissions.
  • Publish a climate action plan by the end of 2021 which includes short and medium interim targets.
  • Appoint a member of the executive team to be responsible and accountable for their net zero target, report progress to the board and publish it on the Vizibl website every year.
  • Communicate climate commitments in other meaningful ways, including to customers.

The taskforce has produced the Tech Zero toolkit to demystify climate jargon and make it easier for technology companies of all sizes to set a net zero plan. Companies who join Tech Zero will have access to exclusive events with climate experts; leading companies who are well on the way to net zero, as well as the most exciting green tech startups. They’ll be part of a network of companies committed to accelerating progress to net zero.

Tech Zero is working in partnership with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), as well as the Government’s Council for Sustainable Business and the UK’s Net Zero Business Champion, Andrew Griffith MP. It is working with the Government to boost green investment and help UK technology companies grow by creating green tech jobs in all four corners of the UK, giving businesses the resources they need to invest in greener choices and encouraging consumers to switch to green technologies.
