Financial group accredited by jobs network as female-friendly employer

Macquarie Group UK has joined Work180 – an international job network connecting businesses with talented women – to raise awareness of the Group¹s diversity credentials and attract diverse candidates to join the growing organisation.

Macquarie is an international diversified financial services group, providing clients with asset management and finance, banking, advisory and risk and capital solutions.

Across the financial services industry gender balance remains a challenge. Macquarie Group has a longstanding approach to diversity and wants to encourage diverse candidates to join its inclusive workplace. Staff at Macquarie Group benefit from a very competitive parental leave policy, flexible working options, an award winning workplace and a variety of learning and development opportunities.

Work180 accreditation will reinforce Macquarie¹s commitment to improving the working lives of its staff thereby encouraging staff from a variety of diverse backgrounds to join the firm.

Work180 assesses employers on a range of criteria such as pay equality, flexible working, paid parental leave, equal opportunities, the availability of a breastfeeding room, mentoring schemes and domestic violence support before allowing them to join the jobs network.

As these policies are made public, women can make educated decisions before deciding to apply to work at the company.

Gemma Lloyd, co-founder and CEO Work180 comments,

“While many financial services companies have great policies in place, unless they actively promote them, the firms will continue to struggle to shake off any male-centric reputation.  By showcasing its female-friendly policies, Macquarie is sending out a positive message not just to women considering applying to the company but to the broader financial services industry.”
